Special Report about Drosophila suzukii
Drosophila suzukii causes considerable economic losses especially in cherry and berry crops. In order to control the spottedwind drosophila, Switzerland has set up a control strategy combining a number of measures such as a national monitoring programme, hygiene measures, and a mass-trapping system. In addition, other methods are being tested and evaluated with the idea of supplementing and improving the current strategy.
The scientific contributions deal in particular of:
– biology and control of the insect
– control strategies
– control alternative
-sensitivity of the grape varieties
A technical Guide of Agroscope for the management of Drosophila suzukii in berries crops is included in the journal.
