Abstract in open access
The emergence of Drosophila suzukii and its associated negative effects on certain grape varieties, requires wine producers to act in order to protect their crops from infestation. While most defensive measures can be considered prophylactic, the use of insecticides is also sometimes necessary. Spinosad is one such example of a recommended insecticide that is highly active. Certain negative and unintended side effects on beneficial organisms have been associated with the use of spinosad, notably on ladybugs and lacewings. Observations in vineyards of the La Côte region (Canton of Vaud, Switzerland) confirmed low to medium presence of these beneficial organisms, regardless of the method or the surrounding environment. Additionally, laboratory tests were performed measuring the impact of spinosad on Adalia bipunctata and Chrysoperla carnea larvae. It was determined that a dosage of 0.18 l/ha resulted in a mortality rate of less than 40 % after 3 days. It can therefore be concluded that a homologated dose of 0.08 l/ha can be considered as neutral or minimally toxic for lacewings and ladybugs.

![Auchenorrhyncha known and potential vectors of stolbur phytoplasma in the Swiss vineyard Auchenorrhyncha known and potential vectors of stolbur phytoplasma in the Swiss vineyard](/wp-content/uploads/artikel_1140.jpg)
Abstract in open access
This survey was conducted in the frame of the SNF-SCOPES project during the period 2014– 2016. Sampling fields were carried out with the aim to know the Auchenorrhyncha fauna, and to define the species known and potential vector of stolbur phytoplasma in vineyards in Switzerland. Auchenorrhyncha communities recorded in the vineyards are only partially similar to those observed in the environments in their surroundings. Only two species characterized the vineyard floor vegetation: Anaceratagallia ribauti and Psammotettix alienus, and both of them have been found positive to stolbur phytoplasma. Two other species characterized the environments surrounding the vineyards: Dicranotropis hamata and Orientus ishidae; and at national level, they are rarely collected in vineyards. These species have not been found infected. The known vector Hyalesthes obsoletus and three other potential vectors (Dictyophara europaea, Euscelis incisus and Reptalus cuspidatus) were detected with low average abundances. H. obsoletus was positive for stolbur phytoplasma in four cantons (Geneva, Neuchâtel, Ticino, Vaud). E. incisus in Neuchâtel, D. europaea and R. cuspidatus in Ticino. These results could be useful for risk analysis of spreading of the disease.
